Within WP2 – Practical Primary Thermometry, Metrosol has reached a significant milestone with its latest Johnson Noise Thermometry (JNT) prototype, which has now been successfully tested at an EMC test laboratory.

The device was exposed to electromagnetic radiation at 10 V/m, simulating a heavy industrial environment, across a frequency range of 80 MHz to 6 GHz. Following a minor modification, the prototype demonstrated no disturbance in the indicated temperature during testing.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) has historically posed a major challenge in developing practical JNT devices due to the extremely small signals involved. Metrosol’s achievement in resolving this issue marks a critical step forward in making JNT viable for real-world industrial applications.
